Things going on

Ok so I have had several people ask me to update this and/or yell at me about not updating this so this is for you.

Things I have done lately

Started coaching baseball
Went to Durango, CO for springbreak*awesome*
Found an awesome church which just keeps getting better
Signed my contract for next school year

Ok the last week has been crazy and really all of April will be. Last Friday (4-7) I had a presentation to do on my first year of teaching. Most of you will know that means I really did most of the work on Thursday night. I ended up being up till three working on it and had to get up at 5 to drive to midland for the presentation. Other than lack of sleep though it went really well.

Then this week I think I might of found a job for the summer working at Camp War Eagle, that's right I might be in Arkansas for the summer which would be awesome since I think I would go insane here not having very many people to hang out with.

Yesterday after we got out of school we(Jr class who I am class sponsor for) went and picked up some decorations for prom which is on the 29th of April. I am taking applications for a date so if your interested please send them to me.

The other major thing going on is that on the 21-23 we are doing a community service project to clean and fix up the city park here in Paint Rock. We are really excited about this project.

Anyway that's about all that is going on here which is plenty trust me

Hello Stranger, chronicles of Narnia

Hey my long lost blog. Since I have neglected you for like two months I thought I would say hi. I seriously doubt anyone reads you anymore but maybe some day. Any Lots has been going on here is Texas land. Tomorrow is is the last regular day of school. And Monday Tuesday, and Wenseday are final days. Its like they never want us to start Christmas break. Last weekend went to Abilene and made mom take me to dinner and I took her to see the chronicles Of Narnia. It was a awesome movie. Although I have two small complaints. One, the best line of the entire book is not in the movie. Very sad and disappointed about this. The line take place when the beavers are talking about Aslan for the first time, and the Kids ask if he is safe. Well the Beavers response is safe no, but he is good. Or some thing to that effect.(at least as far as I remember its been like 6 years since I have read it) As a Christian that is one of the best ways to describe Jesus and God, and has been a favorite line of mine since I came to realize that we are in a bigger battle. And I also think it applies because god does not always want for us to take the safe route in life. Safe is easy and kind of boring. Anyway back to my grips with the movie. The other major part I had a problem with and it really was not as big a deal is when the girls are walking with Aslan on his way to the great stone table. I remember there being some great dialogue in that scene and there was none at all in the movie. But I could be wrong let me know if I am.

The other thing I did last Saturday was take my final test for my Teacher Certification. I think it went really well but wont know for sure until like Jan 10th

October is here and its still 90+ degrees

Ok so I think the thing that I hate most about moving to Texas is that instead of 70 degree days we have 90 degree days. And last week 3 of the 5 days were 100 or close to it. It was stinking hot. Things are going pretty good. I had my first test on yesterday for being certified. It was the technology portion of the test. It was a 90 question test and I think I was the first one in the entire building finished. So I guess I am either really smart or really not. I will find out in about three weeks. This week is going to be crazy though. Its homecoming week for Paint Rock so we have dress up days everyday. It should be interesting. Then we have a bon fire on Thursday night and the football game on Friday. Hopefully we will win. Then after the game I think I am driving to Arkansas. I am really looking forward to the trip since it will be really good to see my friends and I will even get to go to the Grove on Sunday.

Things you learn about your self

Ok so I went to a funeral this weekend, and I know this is really kind of morbid but it was really good. It was more of a type of celebration of his life and his ministry, and while I did not know him I am friends with his daughter. But I sat in the service wishing that I had know him and learned how to be a better man of God from him. Several people came up and spoke about how he had impacted their lives with his spiritual walk. How he always fled from evil, even the low grade stuff that most of us take for granted as just the way it has to be. How he treated every man in his ministry as a child of God, not one of race or addiction. He treated everyone the same. While I am sure most of us would wish to live our lives like that how many of us actually do. I think a lot of it was something I really needed to hear because I have really had a difficult last couple of months as far as relating to God. Which is just crazy because I really have not ever had a three months period of my life where I knew everything that happened was with him pushing it through. But since I have not been to church at all the last three months or so, once in July and once last weekend in Dallas, I have not heard or been reinforced in any way if that makes sense at all. I am trying a new church this weekend so hopefully it will be awesome.

Disaster in the US

So I was kind of slow on the uptake this week about how bad things were in New Orleans. I did not find out about the flooding until Wenseday afternoon. I am just in utter shock about how bad it is. That a major city is all but closed for the next three to four months is just unheard of, at least here. And the whole area that was hit will probably have to be rebuilt from the beginning. I just wish there was something I could do.

Butterflies Abound

If I ever find my camera I will talk pictures of the mass of butterflies I get to walk through all the time at school. They just hover around this bush right outside my class room. Its like going to a place that has a butterfly house only its outside.

Things are going pretty good down here in Texas. Hopefully it will start cooling off now that it is September. I am going to Dallas this weekend for a day or so. I found out yesterday that one of my friends dad died yesterday and they are having a service in Dallas. So pray for her and her Family. He has been sick for a while so it was something that they were expecting but it is always hard to lose a parent, or at least I would think it would be.

I think the hardest thing about being a teacher is giving a test. Because when you give one you want to make it easy enough that they all pass and hard enough that its still challenging. Or maybe I just need to do a better job of preparing for the test.
